Figures from the national bureau of statistics show that in the first five months of 2017, the above textile enterprises realized profit of 149.5 billion yuan, up 4.8 percentage points from the same period a year ago. The number of textile garments exported to China rose 6.5 percent year-on-year in the first five months of this year, up 3.8 percentage points from a year earlier, according to customs express data. It ended two years of negative growth and achieved positive growth.
In addition, "Internet plus" and e-commerce provide new opportunities for the textile industry. In 2015, the total transaction of China's textile e-commerce is 3 trillion and 700 billion yuan, an increase of 25%, accounting for 20.56% of the total e-commerce transactions nationwide. The booming industry has created more job options for graduates majoring in textile engineering.
